Baros | Baros Maldives
Baros is an island of the Maldives . It is located in the North Male Atoll , about 25 kilometers from the capital (main island) of Malé.
On the small island, which can be walked within 10 minutes on foot, there is only the Baros Maldives with 75 suites.

Culture and history info
The full name of Baros is Kodhdhipparu-Baros, an island that was already inhabited in the 18th century. During the reign of Sultan Hassan Nooraddeen I (1779-1799) the islanders abandoned it and Baros was handed over to the Giraavaru people , who are said to have been the Maldivian aborigines. The Sultan intended for them to prosper by gathering coconuts, but the Giraavaru did not live in Baros.
